just a note

What the?? When was the last time I blogged on here? Oh when I realized I didn't have time for this, and facebook, and emails (work and personal) let alone text messaging and actual human contact. How do we keep all these mediums in order. Remember the day when you called your friend on the "landline" phone to talk to them, or you would just go to their house. Now we use all these different techie devices and websites to keep in touch with everyone. Insane. Well I don't have any new news to share on here. Every one is doing well. I am doing well. Life is a mystery that I don't get, and I am tired of trying to get it, so I am just going to enjoy it. Live life while you still have life to live.

Things that I love . . . .

My kids are my greatest joy in life. They are all sweet and funny and amazing!! I am the worlds most proudest aunt in the entire universe. I would do anything for them to ensure they are happy. I try to set a good example for them and offer advice when they ask (which they do sometimes). They also teach me things every time I am with them, whether its a new dance step or unconditional love. They are truly my reason for being, to be their aunt.

I have the worlds BEST Grandma! This was her 85th birthday. She is by far the classiest lady I have ever known. She has a big heart. She loves all of her grandkids equally, no matter how hard I try to persuade her to think I am her favorite. Believe me, I try! haha!! Most of my childhood memories exist in her home. Her generosity and undconditional love astound me. I hope to be half as awesome as she is someday.

I love trains. I have ever since I was a kid. As a child for Christmas I asked for a train every year. My mom couldn't bring herself to buy her only daughter a train set. I finally got one when I was 15 years old (by then I stopped asking), I think she bought it out of guilt, haha!! My Grandpa on my dad's side worked with trains along with most of his family. I never had the chance to meet him and share our passion for trains.

I love my cat Lucy!! She is a great pet to have, and she has an insane personality that I adore! I am grateful to have her in my life. Pets are therapeutic for the soul.

I love tree's. No reason, other than I love being surrounded by them, I think they are pretty, and I love to hear the leaves (especially quakies) rustling.

I love flowers, my top two favorites are tulips and daisies. The daisy is my mom's favorite flower, and therefore they make me think of her. Tulips are my favorite. I love how they look, how they smell and every spring you can depend on them.

I love the mountains. Its my place of serenity. When life stresses me out (which is all of the time, haha!!) I can go there either physically or mentally and it can calm me. I love the peace and quiet up there. In general the people you meet are friendly.

I love churches. I love the architecture, the personality and the reverance that each church holds. The thousands of prayers hushed inside the solemn walls, the tears of joy and sorrow.

Happy 4th of July!

God Bless America, land of the Free!!
This is my favorite holiday. I love the 4th of July. The picnics, parades, city fairs, rodeo's, bbq's, fireworks, late summer nights, and the enthusiam of our nation to unite and show our American pride. Yesterday I drove down Redwood Road in Riverton, and there are chairs and American flags lining the road for the Riverton Days Parade! I never actually go and watch the parades, but I love that people do. I love the excitement people have for traditions. I LOVE traditions. I think that keeps families and friends close, to have traditions. My family every year has a bbq and lights fireworks. I sent a text message to my family to see what everyone was doing, and my neice Amber replied with "Duh, its tradition will be over for the bbq." It touched my heart. She is a fan of traditions as I am!! You never know when the kids are going to get too old to want to hang out with the family, she apparently will never bo too old or too "cool" for the family.
I hope everyone has a fun filled 4th of July weekend. Be safe, and remember the soldiers who have fought or are fighting for our freedom or the freedom of others.

Tattoo time again....

This Wednesday Jason will be doing another tattoo for me! He is amazing and I am beyond excited!! I am getting a butterfly on my right foot. My mom is going to get the same one, she just isn't sure where she wants hers yet.
The butterfly is a representation of Jesus. He was a man, that was placed in a tomb, presumably dead, but He wasn't. He emerged from the tomb and ascended to heaven. The butterfly crawls along the earth with all the small things, trudging along as a caterpillar, only to get into a cocoon, and fly away as a beautiful butterfly.
I will post pictures after I get the tattoo. But you know how good I am about posting pictures, haha!!

Florida

Well I am off to Florida in a week!! I can't be more excited!! The only downfall, ok there are two, first is knowing I am going to come back to a TON of work, ugh! I am dreading that part. But I need a vacation. I can spend the next 12 months catching up, haha!! Sadly, it will take me about that long. Sigh. The other is leaving Lucy behind. I know! I am a crazy cat lady, but I love my cat!! She is the sweetest kitten. OK, actually she hates people, but she loves me, and that is what is important. haha!!
I am excited to get out to Florida and see my cousin Chelsea, her husband and four beautiful children. I miss having them live close to me. She used to invite me for dinner and games. I miss having her around the corner.
I told her that I was going to steal Bobby! I think that kid and I are really related. We have a pretty good connection, or at least when they were here visiting we did. He is a teaser and so am I! I love it when little kids get my sense of humor. Some kids think I am just weird, haha!! My niece Aubrey always thought I was funny, she still does, haha!! So I am leaving room in my suitcase for Bobby.
While I am there we are planning on going to the beach, going to Downtown Disney, and touring and Orange Juice Factory (my idea, I have wanted to since she moved there). The best part, it should be nice weather. And maybe, just maybe I will bring some of that Florida sunshine home with me. I will see what I can work out with good old Mother Nature :)
Don't miss me too much while I am gone . . . .

My last road trip . . .

I swear I am going to update my photos on here. I really need to get the internet on my laptop so it will be easy for me to do. If your wondering why I don't have the internet on my laptop its because I hate computers and gadgets. Ok that isn't true, I just hate it when I can't get things to work after trying about 8 times!!
So I went to Jacob Lake, AZ this past weekend. My friend Liz and I left Friday night after work and stayed until Monday. If you have never heard of Jacob Lake, its ok, I hadn't either. My goal is to stay at least one night in each state (preferably longer). This year it was Arizona. However, I wasn't in the mood to drive for a LONG time. So I looked on mapquest and found a city/town near the border. The first place I noticed was Jacob Lake, it sounded wonderful! They have one hotel there, where you can also stay in cabins. Liz and I made reservations and we were off for a new adventure.
Jacob Lake is 45 minutes from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (which doesn't open until May). But that was fine because Liz and I went and saw Lake Powell, Vermillion Cliffs Highway and the cute little places along the way, The Native American Bridge, and many other little out of the way places. I was so amazed by the beauty that exists in Arizona. I truly could live there; if only I were independently wealthy, haha!!
We also saw Kanab, the Kaibab national forest, Zion national park and we dared to enter Colorado City. We were both curious, and I had just read this book called Escape by Carolyn Jessop, where she tells about her harrowing escape from the polygamist community. I recommend this book to EVERYONE! Anyway, Colorado City wasn't impressing. Its basically a bunch of houses and a few small businesses. The houses are HUGE, go figure. I wonder which one Carolyn lived in? I love reading about something and then actually visiting the place. I don't think I have ever done that before.
Liz and I plan on going back at some time in the future. We want to go back when the Grand Canyon is open. The South Rim is open all year, but that is 2 1/2 hours from Jacob Lake.
This was definitely a favorite vacation of mine.
Again, I will try and post some pictures so you can get a small idea of the GRAND beauty that Arizona possess.

Last night I watched the Academy Awards. Even though I don't believe I saw a single movie that was nominated, I enjoyed it. I love the speeches. I thought they were all pretty good. I think they were pretty simple and thanked only those they felt they should, not listed every person they have known since 3rd grade drama class!

Every year while watching the award show, I get the bug to work on my screenplay. (I make it sound like I have one, but I don't). I have ideas, a million of them. But as my blog page is titled, I have writers block. I get the idea of what to write, I plan out a little in my head, then I sit down at the computer, and nothing. I go blank. Its frustrating. My dream is to be among the great writers, to be a part of that group that without them, Hollywood is nothing. Actors are only as good as the words they are given to perform. I don't want to demean their talent, they have to portray the character, but again, a character someone else wrote.

And the academy award goes to . . . .

Spring Fever!!

I have the WORSE case of Spring Fever!! My palms are clammy, my stomach aches, I have a tempature of 103! The one and ONLY cure, SPRING!!

Oh how I wish the flowers would bloom, the trees would blossom and the grass would turn back to the beautiful green color I know it wants to be. I long for warm summer nights, fireworks, popsicles, flip-flops, capri pants, air-conditioning, warm sunshine, warm breezes, taking walks, and camp fires.

I need a doctor!! If spring doesn't arrive soon I am going to shrivel up in this gray cold miserable winter. Maybe we should have a Spring dance. Sort of like a rain dance, but this will bring a warm front right on in to stay.

When I was a kid I used to LOVE winter, it was my favorite season. There are things I do like about winter, but in my VERY OLD AGE, I have found spring/summer suits me better.

I hope none of you catch this awful illness of Spring Fever, or otherwise called Springinitus.

Is january over YET??

This has been a hectic month! I am SO over it. I am not looking forward to February either. Its the same, very cold, but with a stupid holiday thrown in the middle. I hate single awareness day. I can think of better things to do with my energy than remind myself that I am single. Like take a nap. Its way more productive.
I can say, with complete certainty, I am still single not for a lack of trying. I tend to meet guys that have mommy issues, or commitment issues, or no morals, or they have abandoned their children in other states (yep, met a few of those guys!), and anger issues (last guy I met). I used to think I was picky. But when I look back at the guys I have met, I can see why I went running. I would rather be single than try to "fix" a man-child.
I generally don't mind being single, but in February its hard not to be reminded that I am single.

Whatever though, right?

So I decided to make new years resolutions, this is what I am hoping to accomplish before 2010:

read the bible all the way through
learn sign language fluently
travel to Florida
grow my hair out long
lose some weight
join a church
find a volunteer organization to help
learn to walk in stiletto's
stop stressing about being single
get to know my camera better
write a book
forgive those that have hurt my feelings
and be more like Jesus, love everyone and say only nice things about people or nothing at all.

I hope everyone has a wonderful new year!
